Obituary of Patrick Richie

RICHIE: Patrick Francis -

A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Grande Pointe, Patrick Richie passed away at the Riverview Gardens on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the age of 90.

Born in Dover Township, Patrick was the son of the late Frank and Grace (Sylvain) Richie.

Beloved husband of the late Joyce Loreen Richie (nee Haskell) (January 11, 2017).

Father to David Richie (Debbie) of Sarnia, Pamela Atkinson (Warren) of Chatham and Dan Richie (Lynn) of Chatham.

Grandpa to Chris Richie, Tanya DaSilva (Nelson), Amy Pacheco (Dwayne); Danielle Singleton (Tristan), Ashtin Atkinson (Matthew Sparkes) and Kristin Beneteau (Matt); Kelsey Gonzalez (Jonathon) and Trevor Richie (Amanda Shagat).

Great-Grandpa to 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Predeceased by his siblings Harry Richie (late Gert), Ben Richie (late Marg), Jerry Richie, Lionel Richie, Cecile Richie and Leo Richie.

Brother-in-law to Yvonne Richie and Sandy Richie.

Patrick worked in the floor business, eventually owning and operating Patrick Richie Flooring. He began his career with the LCBO in 1972, becoming a manager in 1981 of Store 161 in Dresden before retiring December 31, 1992.

Patrick also owned and operated "It's About Time", selling and repairing antique clocks and restored and wound the Dresden Tower clock for many years. He was a member of Chapter 92 National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors in London as well as the head branch of NAWCC in Pennsylvania. He was also a member and Past President of the Knights of Columbus Council 1412 in Chatham.

Patrick will be remembered for his talents in woodworking, his mild mannered nature and for being there to lend a helping hand with anything you required.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula's Parish, 205 Tweedsmuir Ave West, Chatham at 12:00pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.

Donations made in memory of Patrick to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
