Obituary of Teresa Audry Fay Zimmer

Zimmer: Teresa Audry 'Faye' (nee Steele) -

passed away peacefully at Parkwood Pallative Care Unit in London, Ontario on Tuesday July 12, 2022 at the age of 83.  We are relieved to say that Mom is no longer suffering after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.  

Mom is pre deceased by her son Ken in 1982, her husband Dave in 1997, and her grandson Stephen Joosten in 2006. She is survived by her last sibling, Leora Molitor from Sarnia, her 3 children:  Frank from Chatham, Terri Joosten (Henry) from London, and Richard (Tina) from Blenheim, as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She will be missed by her family, friends, nieces, and nephews.  

Mom always tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle where she would go for walks daily...sometimes rain or shine.  Mom spent numerous years volunteering in the community with Heart & Stroke, and helping out at bingos and euchre tournaments.  She was a life long member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion.  She served in Strathroy and then in Merlin.  Over the years she has received many Medals and Bars for each office served. She actively participated in some of the following functions:  garage sales, craft and bake sales, prepared meals for banquets and breakfasts, chaired with meat draws and 50/50 tickets, volunteered at the Merlin Public School breakfast program, and helped with judging remembrance day posters.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 145 Victoria Ave. Chatham for Memorial Visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the Mass of the Resurrection at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery in Strathroy at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be most welcome to Parkwood Palliative in London, Canadian Cancer Society Chatham-Kent, and Wheels of Hope.
