I am so so sorry for your loss.
Marnie looked after our daughter Brittany often when we would come in to Emerge at St. JOES hospital many years ago. That is where we came to know and love her. She helped to make what would have been very difficult times for us, so much easier to bear. Britt was only young but she and Marnie would joke and laugh together. She would often poke her head in the room with a big smile, just to get a reaction from Britt. Marnie's caring, loving heart toward us and her matter of fact ways were what we needed to get through each time we had to come in. We will never forget her and be forever grateful!

To Marnie's beloved family I send my sincere sympathy. Marnie was my cousin (our grandfathers were brothers) and I remember many happy times in the White greenhouses at the end of Joseph Street helping to move the plants around and having so much fun in the dirt. She and Lynda always attended our birthday parties at our home on Selkirk Street and we attended McKeough School together. Whenever our paths crossed, we'd reminisce about the 'good old days' and how time had flown. She was happiest when taking care of people especially her family. May your memories bring you comfort at this sad time. God bless your family. - Carol Quinlan (nee Moore)

To Marnie's family,
I worked at St. Joes ICU when Marnie worked in ER and after we were "allianced" I worked with Marnie in PACU. She was a hard worker and a very competent and capable nurse. The shifts were always more enjoyable when she was working and the patients were well cared for. Over the years, I have heard many wonderful stories about her family which demonstrated to me how important family was to Marnie. She was always on the go- one of the most active and energetic nurse, mother, friend. Please accept my sincere condolences with her passing.

To Marlene’s Family: Marnie and I were raised in the same neighbourhood. She and sister, Lynda, were a bit older so we didn’t hang out as friends. Her parents were friends of my parents. I stayed at their place for a couple of days while my brother was being born. I recall them having large, cloth dancing dolls with elastics on the bottom of their feet so you could attach them to yours, a Viewmaster set with lots of disks, a cedar chest that smelled heavenly and a Hoover that frightened me. They also had a Budgie bird named ‘Cookie’ that could talk which always amazed me and later, a Cocker Spaniel named Mitzy. Had lots of fun while I stayed there. Their mom, Helen, who was also my husband's godmother, would often give me and younger niece and nephew bits of coloured foil from the greenhouse to make things out of and we used the empty pallets and wooden boxes to build forts. We had the run of the Greenhouse! We often snatched warm, ripe tomatoes off the vines and leisurely sucked the seeds out before devouring them. After I moved away I seldom saw Marnie but when I did we always recognized one another and I always found her to be friendly, pleasant and kind. She would enquire about my family and I, hers. It’s hard to imagine her leaving this Earth and sad that she was the last of her generation in her family. May you be blessed with many happy memories of this lovely woman to comfort you forever. So sad to hear about my dear friends passing. We have been friends for over 40 years, since my first night working in the ER at St Joe's, me as a nurses aid, Marnie as the charge nurse. She sent me to SPD to find something. I couldn't even find SPD! I was scared to go back empty handed, but she smiled, took me by the hand and showed me SPD and where to find the tray she needed. Ever since then, she has been my go to. She never went to funeral homes. Many a time she would call and say give the family a hug from me. When my mom died she was there with a big hug and smile for me. I will never forget her sense of humor, her kindness, her love of nursing, bridge, golf, tennis, Sauble , her family and friends. R.I.P my wonderful friend. I will miss you
