Obituary of Robert "Bob" Walker

WALKER: Robert "Bob" -

A resident of Chatham, Justice of the Peace Robert "Bob" Walker passed away at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on October 20th at the age of 84. 

Born in Chatham Ontario, Bob was the son of the late Albert and Ethel (Tabberner) Walker. 

Loving husband of 60 years to the late Shirley Walker (nee Morrissey).

Cherished father to Wendy Walker and Craig Walker, both of Chatham.

Predeceased by his brothers Walter (late Jackie) and Joseph Walker.

Bob was involved in the judicial system his entire career and retired as a Justice of the Peace on April 1st, 1993. He spent all of his summers at the family cottage near Huntsville. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and deeply loved his family. He adored cats his whole life and most recently had a great companion in Fluffy. In his younger days, he was a member of Kinsman Club and the Kent Club. After his retirement, he loved going to the horse races, playing cards and having coffee with his friends Ron and Stan.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday November 7, 2020 at 11:00am at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. in Chatham. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, those hoping to attend the funeral service must schedule a time online at https://signup.com/go/vwptfCH or phone the funeral home at 519-351-2040. No one will be permitted at the funeral service without having previously signed up. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone attending must wear a mask. 

Bob will be interred with his beloved wife, Shirley, at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham in a private family service.
