Ron was my vice principal at Dresden Area Central School when I was hired in 1975. It was a time when Kent Board was very much a poor "country cousin" in terms of resources, building maintenance and salary yet had a wealth of highly talented and dedicated educators throughout the county. Ron was one of these. His efforts and interests were directed towards supporting the community, students and staff rather than climbing the administrative ladder. I just learned of Mr. Wingrove's passing. He was my Vice- Principal at Harwich-Raleigh Public School for many years. I can recall my 1st day of Kindergarten, as a scared 5yr old from Detroit, he was a kind voice and he continued to be that until he left the school. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Our Family was always very fond of Ron! As he would wave when we drove into our driveway or out. He knew what was happening in the neighbourhood. Going for Walks my husband and I often stopped by the creek to have a conversation with Ron. We are very saddened by his passing and pray for his family and lovely wife, Elaine. Dear Elaine and family please accept my condolances on Ron's passing. I believe I had the opportunity to meet Ron at Harwich Raleigh P.S. At that time he was V.P. With Chuck Rowland, as Princ[pal. Ron was a very good role model and mentor. He went on many conferences with my husband, as his roommate. I was hired by Ron and Choppy Rowland at Harwich Raleigh in 1985. I knew him through teaching quite well and he was a very supportive administrator who cared about kids. Rest well Ron, we will cherish your memory in our hearts.

I first met Ron helping his parents move into their apt. in Barrie. After that Ron would come up on weekends to visit them and we became good friend. We had a lot in common and had good times sailing and fishing. On my visits to Chatham we spent a lot of time in the garage talking about old times and life.......while drinking tea....LOL
I admired Ron for his love of Elaine and family and his dedication to his church.
So glad I got to talk with Ron recently.
I will miss you my friend, a lot.
