Obituary of Maxine Lumley

LUMLEY: Maxine (nee Montague) -

A lifelong resident of Chatham, Maxine Lumley passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the age of 84. 

Born in Chatham, Maxine was the daughter of the late James Montague and the late Evelyn  LaRue (nee Rabideau) (late Nipper). 

Beloved wife of the late Don Lumley.

Loving mother of the late Brad Lumley, the late Carrie DeWael, Duane Lumley (Wendie), Barry Lumley (Lynn) and Trina Lumley-Esselment (Ted). 

Adored by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Dear sister to Blake Montague (Barb). Predeceased by her siblings Bernice Evans, Hank Montague and Dennis Montague. 

Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. 

Maxine loved hosting events at her family home, ensuring nobody left hungry.She loved baking and would often put together cheese, pickle and fruit trays for guests. Her home was conveniently located next to the high school, and it was very common for the grandchildren and their friends to flock to Maxine's home. 

The Visitation will be held at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 12:00pm -12:45pm with the Funeral Service to be held at 1:00pm. Those attending must register online at (https://signup.com/go/JEhGUPy) or by phoning the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on the funeral home website. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone attending must wear a mask. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. 

Donations made in memory of Maxine to the Praise Fellowship Church or Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
