PETTIPIECE: Marvin Lorne -

A resident of Chatham, Marvin Pettipiece passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the age of 77.

Beloved husband and best friend of 51 years to Linda (nee Mahon).

Born in Chatham, Marvin was the son of the late Lorne and Myrtle (Lemery) Pettipiece and son-in-law of the late Betty and Don Mahon.

Proud father of Jeff Pettipiece (Cindy) of Cottam, Jason Pettipiece (Tara) of Chatham and Tim Pettipiece (Jamie) of Ottawa.

Grandpa to the joy of his life, Eric, Jocelyn, Alex, Autumn and Theodore.

Dear brother to Harold Pettipiece of Harwich Township and Rick Pettipiece (Virginia) of Chatham.

Brother-in-law to Maureen Mahon of South Carolina, Judith Hewitt (Jim) of Erie Beach and Paul Mahon (Debbie) of Comber.

Predeceased by his brother Wesley Pettipiece and brother-in-law William Mahon.

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Marv retired from Navistar after 32 years of service. He was a farmer at heart, and loved everything farming and tractors. He was known by his family as a tinkerer of great proportion. Marv had a very kind heart and was helpful to a fault.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 3:00 - 5:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. Vigil Prayers will be held at 4:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 145 Victoria Ave, Chatham at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2019 with Fr. Jim Higgins celebrant. Interment to follow at Botany Cemetery.
