Very sorry to learn of John's passing. I worked with John at GDLS-C for many years, consulting with him often on matters relating to the appropriate use of materials in sensitive applications. He was always very meticulous in his advice and we were always confident that his experience and extensive knowledge enabled the entire engineering team to successfully provide the highest quality services to our customers.

John was the Canadian Fram engineering lab supervisor when he hired me in 1975 as a lab technician. John ran a tight ship but we still had fun. And later as materials engineer John was meticulous in his work. I am still at Fram (now Continental) and we are still using specifications written by John.

It is with much sadness that I discovered today that John had passed away. He was a good friend, and even though he had moved to London, we did manage to keep in touch when he came to Chatham for family visits.
I first met John playing hockey in the Industrial Hockey League when he played for Fram....a good hockey player he was!
Always a positive happy fun person! Very gifted professional....cared about his family deeply....he was one of the good guys!
His smile will always be remembered and missed.
I will make sure all the boys know John...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, at this difficult time. Even though we didn't see much of each other, I have always enjoyed the memories I have of John coming to our house, every Sunday night, to visit Great Granny Dittmer. I have always admired him for making the effort to do this every week.
