Obituary of James McCulloch

McCulloch, James Watson Scrimgeour Passed away on Saturday September 5, 2015 at Maple City Residence in Chatham, Ontario. He was born on February 1, 1922 in Alberta. Jim grew up in Winnipeg and joined the Navy for the 2nd World War. During the war he met and married the love of his life Margaret Wolstenholme who predeceased him in 2006. They settled in Ontario and raised four children James (Dianne), Jeanne (Tony) Piccinato, Patrick (Kathy) and Peter (Anne). He will be missed by his grandchildren Stewart (Rejane), Heather (Dave), A.J., Kristin (Dean), Megan (Rob), James (Brittany), Brigid, Maura (André) and great-grandchildren Miles, Rowan, André and Thomas. Survived by his sister June (Keith) Kilborne. Predeceased by his parents James and Jean (nee Scrimgeour) and siblings Margaret (Paul), John (May) and David (Marion). For many years Jim was a prolific artist and enjoyed oil painting passionately. Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday September 8, 2015 from 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m.. A Legion Service will take place at 6:45p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 180 Wellington Street West, Chatham on Wednesday September 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Matt Kucharski as celebrant.  Interment will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 642 or the Alzheimer’s Society may be made by contacting the funeral home.
