DOWKER: Gladys May (nee McCallum) – A resident of the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry, and formerly of Toronto, London, Blenheim and South Harwich, Gladys Dowker passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 in her 102nd year. Born in Daysland, Alberta, Gladys was the daughter of the late Duncan and Mary (Dubs) McCallum. Beloved wife of the late Oliver Rex Dowker (1965). Loving mother of Carol Strachan (Brian) of Port Perry, Dennis Dowker of Windsor and Donna Faulkner (Robert) of Ottawa. Predeceased by her son Harvey Dowker (1997). Proud grandmother of Jennifer Dowker, Fleur Ball (Brent), Lesley Blakely (Ryan) and Erin Tracey (Kieran). Predeceased by her grandson Graham. Great-grandmother to 3 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Doris Donald (Ross) and her brother Harvey McCallum. Gladys was a long and faithful member of the Fourth Line United Church, the Blenheim United Church and the Empress United Church in London. Gladys was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rose of Kent Chapter No. 119, Blenheim, where she formerly served as the Worthy Matron. A Private Family Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements for a Memorial Service will be published at a later date.
