PHILIPS: Eliza Rosalie (DeBruyn). A resident of Chatham and formerly of Raleigh Township, Liza Philips passed away at Meadowpark, Chatham on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the age of 92. Born on December 7, 1920 in Hulst, The Netherlands. Beloved wife of the late Jules Philips (2007) for 68 years. Liza immigrated in 1938 from The Netherlands to Dresden with her parents Henry and Matilda DeBruyn, and three brothers, Pete, Joe, and Gus Debruyn, all predeceased. Mother of Nancy and John Blonde, and Betty Ann Philips and husband Phil Hughes, all of Chatham. Predeceased by her son Robert (Bob) Jules Philips in 1996. Grandmother to Shellie and Jay Storey, Todd and Kristen Philips, Tracie and Mark Paul, Ken and Lisa Blonde, Sandra and Dan Durocher, Phil and Michele Blonde, Christine and Barry Ruperet, Kevin and Christina Prescott, and Kyle and Sherry Prescott. Great-grandmother of 14. Sister-in-law of Alice DeBruyn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Funeral Service will immediately follow at the Funeral Home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
