Obituary of Donald Claeys

CLAEYS: Donald E. "Dunc". A resident of Blenheim, Donald "Dunc" Claeys passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the age of 77. Born in Chatham, son of the late Edmund and Esther (Schram) Claeys. Beloved husband of Louise (nee Pollock) (Holdaway) Claeys. Dear step-father of Rick Holdaway and his wife Karren of Dover Centre, and Deb Pickering and her husband Ken of Blenheim. Grandfather of Christopher and Rebecca Holdaway, and Joshua and Jessica Pickering. Brother of Evelyn Vadovic of Chatham, Maurice and Simone Claeys of Blenheim, and the late Yvonne Bennett, and Omer Claeys. Dunc will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Dunc worked at Mallory Industries for 37 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a former member of the Blenheim Kinsmen Club. Dunc enjoyed snowmobiling, ice fishing, helping friends on the farm, and was an avid hockey, baseball, and golf fan. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park St., Blenheim on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at the Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 95 Marlborough St. N., Blenheim on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
