Obituary of Carman Sparling

SPARLING: Carman Carlisle – Our beloved Carman Carlisle Sparling passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at 64 years of age. Best friend and soulmate for 41 years to Susan (Woodliffe). Cherished Dad to Greg (Sheri) of Chatham; Tara Lyn (John Corrente) of Ottawa and Jonathan (Stephanie) of Kitchener. Much loved Grandpa to Kayla, Katherine, Titus, Justus and Lilia. Also survived by brothers Bryon (Dorothy) of Forest, Norman of Drumbo and sister Noreen (Lambert) Nazareth of Mississauga. Predeceased by parents Francis and Evelyn (Wever) Sparling of Forest and sister-in-law Hilda of Drumbo. Over the course of his life, Carman has been an aircraft welder, a tool and die maker, had designed farm machinery for Turnco and owned his own business: Sparstone Renovations. Some men build structures and monuments, but Carman was a master of building relationships. A private burial will take place in Forest and a Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, Park Ave W., Chatham on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Dressler officiating. In lieu of flowers, random acts of kindness in memory of Carman are encouraged. Donations to Bibles for Missions, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Foundation of CKHA - Palliative Care Unit, or a ‘charitable loan’ through the Kiva website (www.kiva.org) to help third world entrepreneurs would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.mckinlayfuneralhome.com, McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim, Ontario, 519-676-3451.
