TIPPIN, Douglas Lincoln – A resident of Chatham, Doug passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the age of 83. He was born in Owen Sound, son of the late James & Kathleen Tippin. Loving husband of the late Donna (Coll) Tippin (2003). Cherished father to Terry & Sue (Blackburn) Tippin of Chatham, and the late Rick Tippin (2005) & his wife Nancy Tippin of Chatham. Very proud grandfather of Kristen & Dave Schulze, Paul Tippin & fiancée Kelly Steen, Greg Tippin & Jacqueline Henderson, Brandon Tippin, and Lindsay Tippin. Dear friend of Lillian Steele of Chatham. Brother-in-law to Jack & Betty Coll and Carole & Bob Johnston. Doug will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Harold, Arnold, Clara, Clarence, Brock, Kay, and Isabel. Doug owned and operated Douglas Tippin Masonry in Chatham-Kent for over 50 years. The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, February 5th from 3:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham and a reception will then be held at the McKinlay Reception Centre. If desired, a memorial donation in Doug’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of Your Choice.
