Obituary of Francis S. Gervais

GERVAIS: Francis S. “Frank” – A resident of Dover, Frank Gervais passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Riverview Gardens in Chatham on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the age of 91. Born in Dover Township, Frank was the son of the late Adelard, Sr. and Florence (Deloge) Gervais. Beloved husband of 63 years to Luella Gervais (nee Charbonneau). Loving father of Florence (Jean) Barrette of Belle River, Jacqueline Gervais of Port Alberni, B.C., Aurele Gervais of Ottawa, Bonita Riddell (Alfie) of Chatham and Florin Gervais (Esther) of Seaforth. Proud grandfather of Joël (Danica) Barrette, Roch Barrette; Marielle Gervais, Adrien Gervais; Colton Riddell; Trinity Gervais and Divine Gervais. Great-grandfather to Mathieu, Joseph and Dominique Barrette; Colin, Tyler and Isabelle Barrette. Step-grandfather to Nathan, Justin and Danielle Kruse. Dear brother to Mary Bechard (late Victor) of Windsor. Predeceased by his four brothers Lawrence, Arthur, Joseph and Adelard, Jr. and his sister Elizabeth Elliott. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Frank farmed his entire life in Dover Township. He also sold seed corn for Pioneer for many years. He was a member of Immaculée Conception Parish, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Council 2356. He was also an avid euchre player. A heartfelt thank-you to all of the staff on 3 East at Riverview Gardens and especially to Corbi and Joanne D. for the way you made Frank smile. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayer will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus Prayers will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculée Conception Catholic Church, Pain Court at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2013 with Fr. Michael Michon celebrant. Interment to follow at Immaculée Conception Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Frank to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or Outreach for Hunger would be appreciated.
