PARKER: Gordon Frederick. A resident of Chatham and formerly of Erieau, Gordon Parker passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in Blenheim, son of the late Barney and Jenny (Scoyne) Parker. Beloved husband of Evelyn (Cox) Parker for 70 years (December 19, 1942). Dear father of Bonnie Peel and partner Russell Dynes of Chatham, Susan Holmes and her husband Gary of Blenheim, Carol Alexander and her husband Larry of Chatham, and the late Linda Thomas (2003). Grandfather of Kristine Leyland (John), Tom Peel (Charlene), Leanne Pepper (Christopher), Rick Holmes (Sandra), Christopher Alexander, and Jodi Alexander (Rob Webster). Great-grandfather of 10. Brother of Jean Verstraete (late husband George) of Blenheim, Bill and Mary Parker of Blenheim, Bob and Alice Parker of Blenheim, and the late Dorothy Bond, Bessie Turner, Hazel Tanner, Harold Parker, Jack Parker, and Don Parker. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gordon was a Veteran of WWII and served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1940-45. He worked for Ontario Hydro for 32 years. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch#28, Chatham. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Skillings officiating.
