Obituary of Anne Sykes

SYKES: Anne (nee Thompson) - A resident of Blenheim, and formerly of Raleigh Township, Anne Sykes passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with her family at her side on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the age of 80. Born in Harwich Township, Anne was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Thompson. Beloved wife of 58 years to Ed Sykes. Loving mother of Mary Anne Brown (Eldon) of Port Lambton, Jim Sykes (Claudette) of Raleigh Township and Don Sykes (Risa) of R.R. # 1 Blenheim. Proud grandmother of Michael, Makenzie and Andrea Brown; Jamie Sue and Mitchell Sykes; Ashley, Josh (fiancée Miranda) and Shane (Cindy) Sykes. Great-grandmother of Thexton, Brooklyn and Kennedy. Dear sister to Marian Sykes (nee Thompson). Predeceased by her brothers George, Keith and Wilfred. Sister-in-law to Mary-Lou, Lynn, Greta, Beth and Lois (Larry). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Anne was an avid gardener and angler and was a lover of animals. Special thanks to Kathy, Anne, Pat, Linda, Glenda and the nurses and PSWs from Bayshore for their continued support and care. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held. at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m on Thursday, January 3, 2013 with Rev. Eric Skillings officiating. Interment to follow at Pardoville Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Anne to St. Luke’s United Church or the O.S.P.C.A. – Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.
