ROBERTS: Michael J. – A resident of Chatham, Michael Roberts passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, December 8, 2012 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ellen Roberts (nee Compton). Dear brother to Ray Millar of Marquette, Michigan and Rose Mackie of Toronto. He will be missed by his brother-in-law James Herron. Proud uncle to Judith Evans, Barbara Mahoney, Nancy Kelly (Leo) and John Compton (Lynne). Great-uncle to Michelle Sullivan. Michael served in the army from 1940 – 1945 in England, Italy and Holland. He was employed by CP Railway for 36 ½ years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 28 in Chatham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Legion Service will be held Friday at 7:00p.m. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Donations made in memory of Michael to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
