Obituary of Guy Jansseune

JANSSEUNE: Guy – A resident of Highgate, Guy Jansseune passed away with his family at his side at Four Counties Health Services in Newbury on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the age of 73. Born in Belgium, Guy was the son of the late George and Mary (Mertens) Jansseune. Beloved husband of 51 years to Patricia. Loving father of Luke (Michèle) of Ridgetown, Kenneth of Thamesville and David (Iryna) of London. Proud grandfather of Richard, Ryan, Daniel, Cheyenne and Hannah. Dear uncle to Bonnie Ewing (Brian) of Thamesville. Predeceased by his sister Gisele Zimmer (1988). Guy was an active member of the community, as a farmer, and an electrician. He was an avid hunter and supporter of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and the O.S.P.C.A. (He will be missed by his canine friend Buster). Over the past year, he has enjoyed spending time at the Sunshine Club in Newbury. A special thank-you to all of the various organizations who have helped to care for Guy over the past year. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers to be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012 with Fr. Mariaraj Irudayam celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Howard Township. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Guy to the Alzheimer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
