McEACHRAN: Frederick Reginald “Freddie” – A resident of R.R. # 1 Petrolia and formerly of Blenheim, Fred McEachran passed away peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy illness at C.E.E. Hospital in Petrolia on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the age of 79. Born in Chatham on November 28, 1932, Fred was the son of the late Reginald and Alice (Reid) McEachran. Beloved husband of the late Mary Lou Ashby (1988). Dear father to Paul McEachran (Karen) of Blenheim. Predeceased by his infant son Dennis (1970). Proud grandfather of Mitchell McEachran (Brittanie Peters) of Pelee Island and Colin McEachran (fiancée Anna Hart) of Simpsonville, Kentucky. Loving soul mate of Mary Ann Clark of Petrolia, and his extended family Les Clark (Lisa), Leanne McNally (Tim), Lisa Clark (Greg) and their children Rachel and Ali Clark, Mitchell and Brooke McNally, McKinlay and Connor Clark. Dear brother to Vera Robertson of Chatham, Lorraine Weaver (Bill Holden) of Chatham, Betty Massender of Blenheim, Wayne McEachran (Marion) of Blenheim, Marjorie Alpaugh (Jack) of London, Marilyn St. Pierre (Doug) of Chatham, Johnny Steen of Blenheim and Greg Steen (Diane) of Blenheim. Predeceased by his brothers Lloyd and Leonard McEachran and his sister June Manninger. Brother-in-law to Joe Manninger of Blenheim, Bernice McEachran of Thamesville, Louise Johnston of Logan Lake, British Columbia, Donna Marie Meyers of Blenheim, Brenda Dent (Eldon) of Blenheim, Barb Richmond (Wayne) of Blenheim and David Ashby (Maria) of Blenheim. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Frances Felder. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Freddie loved camping and playing cards with his friends and family. He loved to dance, particularly to country music. Freddie started his career at Pook’s Garage, before going into business on his own, running the McEachran Body Shop. He worked for Handy Brothers for 12 years, up until his retirement. In his retirement years, Freddie enjoyed visiting with his friends and family at the coffee shop. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 with Rev. Kathy Hawley officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made in memory of Fred to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the C.E.E.
