SMITH: E. Max. A resident of Village On The Ridge and formerly of Morpeth, Max Smith passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the age of 87. Born in Howard Township, son of the late Stephen and Maud (Hall) Smith. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (Harvey) Smith (2005). Dear father of Stephen Smith and his wife Esther of R.R.#4 Blenheim, Janet Pinder and her husband Bryan of Rodney, and Lisa Smith of Niagara Falls. Grandfather of Scott Smith, Ryan Smith, Nathalie Smith, Michael Pinder (Lexy), Jennifer Pinder, Katelyn Pinder, and Laura Pinder. Brother of the late Marjorie Geddis, James R. Smith, Wylie Smith, and Madeleine Smith. Brother-in-law of Ruthanne and Doug Thain of Blenheim, Janet Harvey of London, Bill and Treena Harvey of Chatham, and Chris Coombs (late Merilee) of London. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Max farmed all of his life in Howard Township. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel Congregational Church, 92 Erie St. N., Ridgetown on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Lukings officiating. Interment in Morpeth Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Emmanuel Congregational Church would be appreciated.
