BRIEN: William Frederick ‘Bill’ – A resident of Ridgetown, William Brien passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the age of 90. Born in Howard Township, Bill was the son of the late Charles and Annie (Fenningsdorf) Brien. Beloved husband of 67 years to Helen Brien (nee Parney). Loving father of Stanley Brien (Edna) of Ridgetown. Proud grandfather of Billy and Kevin. Predeceased by his two sisters, Dorothy Ranahan and Kathleen ‘Kay’ Guyitt. Dear uncle to Bob Ranahan (Elaine) of Sarnia, Gail Peters (Bob) of Windsor, Nancy Cameron (Jim) of Chatham, Charles Guyitt (Brenda) of Ridgetown, Ruth Laforet (Jim) of Lake Morningstar, Margaret Ann Gold of Belle River, John Thomas (Pat) of Blenheim, Cheryl Sparling (Jon) of Petrolia and Lorraine Osborne (Ian) of Ridgetown. Predeceased by his niece Carol Lozinski and nephew Larry Parney. Also missed by many great-nieces and nephews. Bill was an avid curler and lawn bowler and an elder at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. He had worked for the Howard Township Roads Department for many years and had farmed all of his life. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held the Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 with Rev. Paul Shaw officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations made in memory of Bill to the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
