Obituary of Milton George Bowyer

BOWYER: Milton George, At the age of 91 Milton George passed away at the CKHA on September 3, 2012. A resident of the Village on the Ridge and previously of Chatham. Milton’s kind and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. May you rest in the peace you so dearly deserve. Milton was born at Northwood, Ontario on February 3, 1921. He is the eldest son of the late Marcus (1971) and Ila (Filby) Bowyer (1989). Survived by sister Helen Wickens (late Bill). Predeceased by brothers Donald (2005), Elmer (2005) and sister-in-law Shirley. Predeceased by spouses Marie Smith (1983) and Gloria Capeling (1966). Survived by his loving wife Bernice. Loving father of Mary Ellen (Peter) Adlington, Elaine (Tom) Hartley, David (Glenda) Bowyer, Darlene (late Bob) Coatsworth, Glenda (Jim) Eberle, and Larry (Tina) Dickson. Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Milton was the former owner/operator of Bowyer Grain and Feed in Thamesville, member of First Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and again 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the Funeral Service which will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Maroney officiating. Interment Mayhew Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville.
