Obituary of Frederick Roman 'Fred' Kozlof

KOZLOF: Fred Roman, C.G.A. - A resident of Blenheim, Fred Kozlof passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with his family at his side on Saturday, September 1, 2012 in his 98th year. Born in Sault Ste Marie in 1914, Fred was the son of the late Roman and Barbara (Olechnovich) Kozlof. Raised and educated in Hamilton, Fred was the beloved husband of 64 years to Julia (Mojzis) Kozlof. Dear father of Fred (Shelley) Kozlof of Cary, North Carolina and Katherine (Fred) Cowlin of Amherstburg. Proud grandfather of Jennifer Kozlof of Cary, North Carolina, David (Nancy) Cowlin of LaSalle and Brian Cowlin of Windsor. Great grandfather of Alyssa, Ethan and Sidney Cowlin. Survived by his sisters, Helen (John) Bos of Dundas, Anne (Orval) Wilson of Dundas and his sister-in-law Mary Kozlof. Also missed by many nieces and nephews, friends and extended family. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Katherine (Jim) Skotnicki, Mary (George) Connell, Jeanne (Edward) Burrows, Julia (Orville) Muckle, Michael (Elsie) Kozlof, Walter Kozlof and Alex Kozlof. Fred was a retired C.G.A. Accountant and an Ontario Public Accountant. He was a member of the Canadian, U.S. and United Nations Philatelic Society (Stamp collecting). Former member of the Kent County Chapter of the Credit Union. Charter member of the Blenheim Kinsmen Club. Former member of the Florida Horseshoe Pitching Club of Lake Worth, Florida. Member of St. Mary’s Church. Secretary Treasurer of Howard James Co. in Blenheim for 54 years. Member of the independent order of Foresters. Fred enjoyed music, bowling, tennis, dancing and stamp collecting. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held Wednesday at 7:00p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 6th, 2012. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made in memory of Fred to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
