Obituary of Joseph Leon 'Joe' Perdu

PERDU: Joseph Leon “Joe” – A resident of Ridgetown, Joseph Perdu passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the age of 80. Born on February 10, 1932 and raised on Gosnell Line in rural Highgate, Joe was the son of the late Maurice and Irma (Demaree) Perdu. He attended High School in Ridgetown and attended the Agar Business College. He lived all of his adult years in Ridgetown, and was active in the Jaycees, Kiwanis and the Town Recreation Committee. He was a director of the Golf Club and was a member of the Legion since the early 50’s. He was the Past President of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (Essex-Kent Division). He was a purchasing agent at Siemen’s in Chatham, retiring in 1990 after 27 years. Beloved husband to the late Erma (Brown) Perdu (1999). Loving father to Brad and Jeanette of Kitchener and Jeff and Jean of London. Proud grandfather of Scott, Wesley, Maelyn, Morgan and Hannah. Joe is survived by his brother Charles Perdu of Chatham. Predeceased by his sister Paula (Shewburg) Leatherdale. Loving friend of Mary Ann Taylor and family. Also missed by many friends and extended family. A Funeral Service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Ridgetown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 with Legion Padre Al McIntyre officiating.
