Obituary of Joseph E. Haslam

HASLAM: Joseph E. A former resident of Thamesville, Joseph Edward Haslam passed away peacefully at his home on July 27, 2012 at the age of 83. Born in Sandwich, Ontario son of the late Frederick Haslam and Frances Brault. Beloved husband of Claudia (Mindorff.) Loving father of Mary Jane Haslam of McGregor, Ontario, and Frank Haslam (Karla) of Toronto. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Nicholas, Serena, and Claire. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, he is survived by his sisters Betty Laframboise of Ferndale, Michigan, and Teresa (Vincent) Meloche of LaSalle. Joe was the owner of the Victoria Barber Shop in Thamesville, where he barbered for 55 years. He and his wife Claudia also owned and operated the Crossroads Bed and Breakfast in Thamesville for many years. Family and friends are welcome to gather at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday August 3, 2012. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Bombardier as celebrant. A light lunch will follow. Family request that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Agnes Soup Kitchen (where Joe & Claudia often volunteered) or to St. Vincent de Paul Children’s Camp (that it may assist those in need to attend camp.)
