VAN GIESSEN: Bastiana “Jane”. The Lord took unto Himself his loving and faithful servant Jane Van Giessen, a resident of Chatham, on Friday, July 27, 2012 in her 85th year. Born in Diessen, The Netherlands, daughter of the late Gerrit and Anneke Branderhorst. Beloved wife of Henk Van Giessen for 62 years. Dear mother of Janet Groenewegen (Pete) of Blenheim, Adrian Van Giessen (Barbara Kok) of Waterloo, Annie Vanderleek (Gordon) of Calgary, and predeceased by an infant son (1953). Grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 2. Sister of Reda Plate (Edward) of Iowa, Dorothy Devries of P.E.I., Bert Branderhorst (Shirley) of Exeter, John Branderhorst (Peta) of Hensall, Wilma Kodde (Lawrence) of Granton, Annie Koning (Dave) of Hamilton, and the late Marie Vander Beek, Gerrit Branderhorst, Cornie Branderhorst, Nick Branderhorst, and Pete Branderhorst. Sister-in-law of Margaret Branderhorst of Holland, Michigan, Corrie Branderhorst of Exeter, Ria Branderhorst of Iowa, and Nel Branderhorst of Iowa. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Free Reformed Church, 159 Gregory Dr. E., Chatham on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Bergsma officiating.
