THOMPSON, Linda “Lin”; A resident of Chatham, Linda “Lin” Thompson, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the age of 64. Born in Winnipeg, MB, daughter of the late Alec & Kay Klym. Beloved wife for 42 years to Robert “Bob” Thompson. Loving mother to Lori Thompson of Chatham, Sandie Thompson and her husband Peter Hummel of Fergus. Forever remembered by her grandchildren Shannon, Dustin, and Breyden Williston, Soraya and Andrew Hummel. Survived by mother-in-law Jessie Thompson, sister-in-law Donna Hartley, and nieces & nephews Cheryl, Dean, Robin and their families. Lin was an avid ballroom dancer, she enjoyed walking, and was an activist of nature who took part in the preservation of Paxton’s Bush. Cremation has taken place.A benefit Dinner-Dance will be held in Lin's Honour on Saturday, July 21st, 2012. Dinner at 6:00 p.m. Dancing until 1:00 a.m.(Featuring the Band Superfly) All proceeds to Cancer Research. It will be held at The Portuguese Hall, 346 Grand Ave E., Chatham. Tickets are $40 each. Silent auction will be held. Tickets are available through Sandie Thompson, Robert Thompson, and the CIBC Bank on the corner of McNaughton and St. Clair.
