Mackness, Harold Abner, a resident of R.R. #1, Chatham. Harold Mackness died Thursday June 14, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, son of the late James Abner & Ethel (Burns) Mackness. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Jean (Moir) Mackness (2009). Dear father of Dennis & Carol Anne Mackness, R.R. #1, Chatham. Grandfather of Chad & Angel Mackness, R.R. #1, Chatham and Jennifer & Jarek Krawczyk, Dundas. Great Grandfather of Shelby Grace Mackness and Aleksander Joel (Olek) Krawczyk. Brother of the late Thelma Mackness (1989) & Rhea Tupper (2011). Brother-in-law of Peggy & Bob Jordan, Waterloo & Wally & Barb Moir, Chatham. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Harold was a long time member of the Gideon’s, a former Chatham Township Councillor, a member of the Thames Christian Fellowship Church and a founding member of the Thames Horizon Shuffleboard Club. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St Clair St., Chatham on Monday June 18, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Thames Christian Fellowship Church, 400 Park Ave., E., Chatham on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Brad Wing officiating. Interment McVicar Cemetery. Donations in memory of Harold to the Gideon’s would be appreciated.
