Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Sharp

SHARP: Mary Elizabeth – A resident of the Blenheim Community Village, and formerly of Highgate, Mary Sharp passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 86. Born in Chatham, Mary was the daughter of the late Alfred and Vada (Pickering) Thomas. Beloved wife of the late Robert Gerald Sharp (2002). Loving mother of Linda Ford (Doug) of Highgate and Ellen Wootton of Arthur. Proud grandmother of Shelley Shoemaker (Jeff) of LaSalle, Cindy Simpson (Jamie) of Highgate, Sharon Wootton of Elora and Brent Wootton (Trisha) of Gooderham. Great-grandmother to Victoria, Mitchell and McKenzie Shoemaker, Brittany and Meredith Goldhawk, Katie and Emily Pinzin and Eric, Owen and Grace Wootton. Dear sister to Margaret Chittim (Jim) of R.R. # 6 Chatham. Survived by her sister-in-law Helen Lebert of Lighthouse Cove. Mary worked for a number of years as a Registered Nurse at Four Counties Hospital. She was very active in the Turin Presbyterian Church and later the Thamesville Presbyterian Church. Mary loved to work in the garden, and the camaraderie of her pets. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Private Family Funeral Service to follow. Cremation has taken place with a private interment in Stewart Cemetery to be held at a later date. Donations made in memory of Mary to the Four Counties Health Services would be appreciated.
