GROENEWEGEN: Mensje Leentje “Michelle” – Our Mom went home to be with the Lord with our family at her side on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Blenheim Community Village at the age of 93. A resident of Blenheim, born in DeLier, The Netherlands, Michelle was the daughter of the late Gerrit and Anna (Van Den Berg) Leerdam. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Peter Groenewegen (1993). Loving mother of Jerry Groenewegen (late Jane, 2010) of Stoney Creek, Thea Verburg (Jack) of R.R. # 4 Chatham, Anne Zondervan (Charly) of Clinton, Coby Bosgraff (Hank) of Fonthill, Pete Groenewegen (Jan) of R.R. # 4 Blenheim and Herb Groenewegen (Susan) of R.R. # 2 Blenheim. Predeceased by her infant son John (1942). Proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by one great-granddaughter. Dear sister to Arend Leerdam of Holland. Predeceased by her sisters Lenie, Annie, Gerda and Jeanne and her brother Jan. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Blenheim Christian Reformed Church, 286 Chatham Street South, Blenheim on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Frank DeBoer officiating.
