Obituary of Mildred Woodley

WOODLEY: Mildred (nee Hellyer) 1918-2012. Mildred Woodley passed away on Saturday March, 10th, 2012 due to complications of old age. She was in her 94th year. Mildred was born on May 21st, 1918, at Mount Clair Farm in Townsend Centre to Russell and Lillian Hellyer. Sister to Walter (Doreen) and Editha (Telford), she was predeceased by her sister Shirley, her loving husband and son, Ted and Mark. Mildred will be missed by her daughter Judy (Ken), son Bill (Debra) and her devoted son Dick and daughter-in-law Becky. She was proud “Nana”, “Nannie” and “Grandma” to her grandchildren Meagan (Jamie) Bryn, Dan, Ian, Kyle, and to her great-grandsons Owen, Noah, Quinn and Evan. Her visits with her grandchildren always made her so happy. Mildred would spend hours poring over her photo albums which continually brought forth renewed memories. The family specifically wants to acknowledge our brother and Uncle Dick. He has been mother’s best and most devoted son and friend who rarely missed his daily visit with her. Dick was her lifeline to the outside world and we thank him for his utmost kindness to the mother he so dearly loved. At Mildred’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations on her behalf may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. The family will celebrate her life with a private memorial in May on Mildred’s birthday. McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown, Ontario (519)674-3141.
