Steele, Norah May, a resident of Chatham. Norah Steele died Saturday February 4, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 90. Born in New Westminister, B.C. , daughter of the late William H. & Annie (Wilson) Kidd. Beloved wife of the late Telford Ezra (Si) Steele. Dear mother of Kathleen Scharf & husband Bob, Coquitlam, B.C. and Maryann Warner & husband Doug, North Bay, ON. Grandmother of Owen (Kari) Scharf, Drew (Jennifer) Scharf, Jed Sharf; Joe Warner & Meredith Warner (fiance’ Paul Schonfelder). Great Grandmother of Jillian & Haleigh. Sister of the late Dr. A Kidd; Lila Cummings; Edith O’Donohue & twin Kay Watson. Also survived by dear friend Edythe Reid and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Steele moved to Chatham in 1945. She worked as a library secretary at C.C.I. from 1968 until her retirement in 1980. She was a former member of Park St. United Church, Victoria Residence Auxillary and a former member and avid golfer at Indian Creek Golf Club. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Monday February 13, 2012 from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Tuesday February 14, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. with The Rev. Susan Jolley officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations in memory of Mrs. Steele to O.S.P.C.A. (Chatham-Kent) or Charity of Choice would be appreciated.
