Obituary of Rose Elders

ELDERS, Rose Elizabeth; A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Saskatchewan, Rose Elders passed away peacefully at the Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the age of 98. Born in North Battleford, SK, daughter of the late Charles & Maude Steele. Cherished wife of the late Henry Elders (1985). Loving mother to Bill & Mary Elders of Chatham. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jim & Susan Elders of Chatham, Jana & John Kwik of Dayton, Ohio, Juli Elders & Lisa Powers of Chatham, Jeni & Paul Spicer of Chatham, and Jeff & Lindsey Elders of Waterloo. Forever missed by her great-grandchildren Fraser, Fiona, and Elizabeth Elders, Cameron, Lauren, Megan, and Kaitlyn Kwik, Leah and Mary Spicer. Survived by her brother Joe & Eileen Steel of Nanaimo, B.C. Predeceased by siblings Alice Warren, Bill Steele, Charles Steele, and Grace Sales. Rose was a long time member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, the A.C.W., and the Friendship Club. She loved to travel, enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, gardening, and needle work. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kristen Oliver officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations in memory of Rose Elders to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
