PIERCE: Alta May. A longtime resident of Chatham, Alta Pierce died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Tuesday January 10, 2012 at the age of 91. Born in Middlesex County, daughter of the late John & Mary Elizabeth (Carman) Kettlewell. Beloved wife of the late James “J.C.” Pierce (2000). Loving mother of Lynda & David Dodman of Blenheim, Stella & Bill Dodman, and Nancy & John Doyle, all of Chatham. Cherished grandmother of Rory Dodman & Sheri Reuten, Jamie & Becky Dodman, Jodi Dodman & James Payne, Matt & Amanda Dodman, Cindy & Ryan Melanson, Laura Dodman, Christopher Doyle, Kyle Doyle, and the late Scott Doyle (1992). Much loved great grandmother of Ian, Tori, Kelsey, Jenna, Brennen, Dorion, Carter, Addison, and Boden. Alta was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her brothers A.D., Orlow, Lorne, Ivan, and Gordon Kettlewell. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 450 Park Avenue West, Chatham on Friday January 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
