Obituary of Harry Eskritt

ESKRITT: Harry Louis. It is with great sadness that the family of Harry Eskritt announces his peaceful passing, with his wife at his side at their home on Saturday December 24, 2011. Born in Chatham, 86 years ago on September 15, 1925, son of the late Garnet & Pearl Eskritt. Loving husband of Gloria Jean (Trudell) Eskritt for 64 years. Beloved father of Tim (Anne) Eskritt, Linda (Larry) Lee, George (Carmen) Eskritt, Judy (Jim) Carnegie, and Pat (John) Stirling. Grandpa will be sadly missed by 12 grandchildren: Tricia, Garnet (Vicki), Scott (Darlene), Christine, Heather, Jennifer, Robert, Janet (Matt), Jamie, Mark (Heather), Charlene, and Janice. Special Great Grandfather of 11: Curtis, Dominique, Sierra, Olivia, Paige, Dylan, Peyton, Kayleigh, Euan, Ivan, and Tyler. Brother of Stan Eskritt, Eve Speed (late Robert), and step brother of Dan, Hugh, Peter, Helen, Wilma, Barbara, and Margaret. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was a barber in Highgate for many years. He was also a dedicated employee at the Chatham International Harvester/Navistar Plant. Most of all, Harry will be remembered for his love of fishing in Mitchell’s Bay. There will be fish stories told for many years to come. A private family interment service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
