Obituary of Harvey Hildreth Pickering

PICKERING: Harvey Hildreth – A resident of Charing Cross, and formerly of Fargo, Harvey Pickering passed away quietly at his home on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the age of 75. Born in Harwich Township, Harvey was the son of the late Harvey Mitchell and Katherine Elizabeth (Hebblethwaite) Pickering. Beloved husband to Elda Pickering (nee Busteed). Loving father of Greg Pickering (Lori) of Erie Beach, Pat Pickering of Charing Cross, Doug Pickering of Chatham, Anetta Slack (Myron) of Blenheim, Jennifer Roe (Darren) of Blenheim and April Bell of Chatham. Proud grandfather of Jason Pickering, Tabitha Cowlan (Erik Vink), Laura Cowlan, Brittany Slack, Calsy Cowlan, Brettlie Pickering and Colton Bell and “Little Papa” of Dalton Roe. Great-grandfather of Samantha Pickering and Kylee Vink. Harvey is survived by his three sisters, Louise Sutherland of Lucan, Joan Drury of Blenheim and Pauline DeVries (Ben) of Blenheim, and his three brothers Percy Pickering (Betty Ann) of Duart, Gary Pickering (Lynda) of Erieau and Brian Pickering (Linda) of Blenheim. Predeceased by his sister Eileen Shrigley. Harvey had worked at the Blenheim News Tribune as well as Minuteman Press in Chatham. Harvey loved four things in this life: his family, the Leafs, fishing and Jimmy Johnson. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Private Family interment will follow at a later date.
