PIGGOTT: Edith. A lifelong resident of Chatham, Edith Piggott died peacefully at her residence on Thursday August 25, 2011 with her family by her side. She was born in Chatham 86 years ago, daughter of the late James & Winnifred Clark. Beloved mother of David Piggott of Erieau, and Sharlet Piggott & Jerry Campbell of Chatham. Cherished grandmother of Karen Piggott of Calgary, and Leslie van As-Piggott & her husband Maarten of Holland. Dear sister of the late Winnifred Clark, Kenneth Clark, and James Clark. Edith was a teacher at John McGregor Secondary School for many years. She loved and cared for any and all animals, and spent several years volunteering as President of the Kent Branch of the OSPCA. Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Chatham Retirement Resort for their compassionate care. At EdithÂ’s request, following cremation a private family interment service will take place at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Memorial donations made to the OSPCA of Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.
