Obituary of Ruth Beattie

BEATTIE: Ruth – A resident of the Fourth Line Community, Ruth Beattie passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the age of 84. Born in Chatham, Ruth was the daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Bishop) Rankin. Beloved wife of 66 years to Ted Beattie. Loving mother of Doug Beattie (Wendy) of Windsor, Dennis Beattie (Linda Wilson) of Woodstock and Charlie Beattie (Nancy Ireland) of Chatham. Proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 14 great-grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her sister Carolyn Medley (Stewart) of Lambeth and her sister-in-law Ruth Rankin of Highgate. Predeceased by her brothers, sister and sister-in-law Allan Rankin, Noreen Stevens and Dean Rankin (Lillian). Ruth worked at Mary Lou’s Shoppe for over 30 years. She was also an active member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church. The Beattie Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Margaret Moriyama officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
