Obituary of Eileen Grover

GROVER: Eileen. A resident of Chatham, Eileen Grover died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Tuesday July 5, 2011. Born in Chatham 89 years ago on December 12, 1921, daughter of the late Walter & Rena (Gardiner) Smith. Beloved wife of the late John (Jack) Grover (1986). Loving mother of Maureen McLaughlin of Chatham and Wayne & Pamela Grover of Alabama. Predeceased by her son John Walter Grover (2004) and son-in-law Michael McLaughlin (2003). Cherished grandmother of 4 and great grandmother of 8. Dear sister of the late Jean Reid. Fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Charles Reid of Chatham and her sister-in-law Doris Rylett of London. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Eileen and Jack lived and worked in California for over 20 years, raising their family there before returning to Chatham. Always involved in her church, Eileen was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Chatham, and a member of the Dr. Margaret Strang Auxiliary. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday July 9, 2011 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
