Obituary of William Anthony 'Tony' Stilwell

STILWELL: William Anthony (Tony) – A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Blenheim and Cedar Springs, Tony Stilwell passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the age of 76. Born in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England, Tony was the son of the late Bill and Alice (Plumb) Stilwell. Beloved husband of 55 years to Patricia “Paddy” Stilwell (nee Topping). Loving father to Josephine Leblanc-Smith and her late husband Dennis (2011) of Chatham, Tracey Ceccacci (Bill) of Blenheim, Kay LaFlamme (Fred) of Chatham and Richard Stilwell of Brantford. Proud grandfather of Matthew Leblanc (Jodi) of Toronto, Nicole Hopper (Dennis) of Thamesville, Catriona Huggins (Jon Paul) of Cedar Springs, Miranda Ceccacci of Blenheim, John Ceccacci of London, Liam Ceccacci of London, Melissa Ferren of Chatham, Daniel LaFlamme of Montreal and Chelsy Martin (Chad) of Chatham. Great-grandfather to Renton, Jett, Gavin, Rigby, Brooklyn and Danielle. Tony is survived by his sister Jean Ray (George), his brothers Raymond Stilwell (Stella) and Denis Stilwell (Maureen) and their families all of England. Tony worked as a quality engineer at International Harvester for 32 years. He also served in the British Army for two years and was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #628 Chatham and Branch #185 Blenheim. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Copper Terrace in Chatham for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place with private family arrangements to be held at a later date.
