Obituary of Ben Sonneveld

SONNEVELD: “Ben” Jacobus Albertus Wilhelmus - A resident of R.R. # 1, Blenheim, Ben Sonneveld passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the age of 77. Born in Pynacker, The Netherlands, Ben was the son of the late Gosewinus and Antje (Bos) Sonneveld. Beloved husband of the late Martha (Hoekstra) Sonneveld (2001). Loving father of Annette Sonneveld and her husband Brian Wilkie of Toronto, Linda Sonneveld of London, Wayne and Sherry Sonneveld of Blenheim, Mary Sonneveld of Toronto and Stefanie Sonneveld and her husband Eddy Douridas of London. Proud grandfather of Tara Rose Wilkie, Ian Tecumseh Wilkie, Meredith Sonneveld, Kurtis James Sonneveld, Kaitlin Marie Sonneveld, Korinne Martha Jolene Sonneveld, Tom Douridas and Grace Douridas. Ben is survived by his two sisters Pieternella and Wilhelmina of The Netherlands and by his brother Gosewinus “Gus” and his wife Joan of Blenheim. Also missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The Sonneveld family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Reformed Church, 632 Lacroix Street, Chatham, on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Kapteyn officiating. Interment to follow at Pardoville-Union Cemetery.
