Obituary of Joyce G. Thompson

Thompson, Joyce G., a resident of Chatham. Joyce Thompson passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus on Thursday June 9, 2011. Born in Toronto, daughter of the late Clyde James & Hilda Belle (Gay) Umlah. Survived by her devoted husband Kenneth Thompson. Joyce came to Chatham in 1989, from Mississauga and is predeceased by husband Harold Fleet (1989) and son Kevin Bentley (1987). Also survived by a sister, Marylou Rauchbart, Mississauga; a niece Angie Poole & her husband Larry Poole, Brampton, and their two sons Adam and Adisen. Special relatives Cindy & Perry Hegmans and their three children, Perry Jr. and wife Amberley, Chatham; Jeff & wife Ashley, Kincardine and Tara & husband Andrew Smith, Chatham. Joyce was active in VON Geranium House, Palliative Care, Chatham-Kent, and helped facilitate a Recently Widowed Support Group at Geranium House. Cremation will be followed by a Family Interment Service at Craford Cemetery. Friends and Family are invited to a Gathering and luncheon to celebrate Joyce’s life on Wednesday June 15, 2011 from 12:30 – 2:30 at the Reception Centre of the McKinlay Funeral Home, Chatham.
