Obituary of Leon Joseph Ramboer

Ramboer, Leon Joseph, a resident of Ridgetown. Leon J. Ramboer entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2011 at the age of 90. Born in Superior, Wisconsin, son of the late Julius & Irma (VanDenbosch) Ramboer. He has gone to be with Frances (Schouppe) his beloved wife of 45 years (1991). Survived by his loving friend and partner Pauline Ramboer, his daughter Colleen Meloche and Charlie Vinter of Ridgetown; sons, Dennis Ramboer and wife Janice of Thamesville, Dale Ramboer of Chatham and Daniel Ramboer of Petrolia. Also survived by his daughter-in-law Linda Ramboer of Sarnia, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Leon will also be missed by Pauline’s family – Cyril & Deb Ramboer, Monica (Murray) Ramboer, Lorie and Russ Linale, Tracy and Mark Smith and their children. Pre-deceased by daughter-in-law Julie Ramboer (2004), two brothers Anthony and Victor and 2 infant sisters. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St.,E., Ridgetown on Sunday June 12, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 3:45 p.m. Knights of Columbus Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridgetown on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Greg Mulligan celebrant. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations in memory of Leon to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
