Obituary of Sidney Everitt Sheeler

SHEELER: Sidney Everitt, A resident of Wallaceburg, Sidney Sheeler passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Sydenham Campus on Friday, April 29, 2011 at the age of 72. He was born in Wallaceburg, son of the late Albert John (Jack) and Mary Matilda (nee Tillie) Sheeler. Survived by his son A. John (Kelley) Sheeler and his daughter Denise (Josh) Hart. Grandfather to 4 grandchildren. Brother to Linda, Jim, Phil(Betty) and Brian. Predeceased by his sister Jean and brother John. Sidney graduated from high school in Wallaceburg. He went on to work at Wallaceburg Glass. He then moved to Toronto to work at Consumers Glass where he was foreman until 1978. While in Toronto, he graduated from the Canadian Institute of Management (1971). Sidney returned to Wallaceburg where he ended his career as Quality Control Manager at North American Plastics. He was the former Chairman of the 4th Malton District Boy Scouts, a member of the Knights of Pythias and for many years helped to organize the Wallaceburg Santa Claus Parade. At the request of the family, a private burial has taken place at Pardoville Union Cemetery. In memory of Mr. Sheeler, donations to the Westover Treatment Centre or the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre would be appreciated by the family.
