LAFORET: Richard “Dick”. A resident of Blenheim and formerly from Ridgetown, Dick Laforet died peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday March 10, 2011 at the age of 79, with his family at his side. Born in Windsor, son of the late George Xavier & Agatha (Lafond) Laforet. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Roets) Laforet (1994). Dear father of Rick Laforet & Doris of Kingston, Michael Laforet & Violet of Whitby, Laurie Hackett & Brian of Blenheim, and Tammy Wright & Ray Barnes of Blenheim. Cherished grandfather of Chantelle, Michael, Mark, Amanda, Sarah, Derek, Nick, Brooklyn. Brother of Claire Marie Drouin & Marcelle (Shorty) of Markham, Ronald Laforet & Barbara of Chatham, and the late Norm Laforet and George Laforet Jr. Also survived by extended family Bonny Laforet and Cheryl Perkins (Lloyd) all of Windsor, and their families. Dick worked for many years with Beaver Foods in Southwestern Ontario . He was a longtime member of Branch 243 Royal Canadian Legion, Ridgetown. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East , Ridgetown on Sunday 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Monday March 14, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev.
