VanderSpek: Anthonia Elizabeth (nee Paul), A resident of Chatham, Anthonia VanderSpek passed away at Riverview Gardens on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the age of 90. Born in Zevenhuizen, Holland; daughter of the late Pieter and Dina (nee Kroes) Paul. Loving wife for 64 years to Jacob VanderSpek. Dear mother to the late Arie (2003) and and his wife Johanna VanderSpek, Dina Sonneveld and her husband Gus, Peter VanderSpek and his wife Marian, John VanderSpek. Proud grandmother to Paul, Arianna, Elyse & John, Danny, Michelle. Predeceased by her grandson Jän Joseph. Anthonia is survived by two sisters. She is predeceased by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Anthonia will forever be remembered for her love and dedication to her husband and family. Her faith and her Church were also cornerstones of her life. Family and friends are invited to gather at First Reformed Church, 632 Lacroix St. Chatham on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Rev. John Kapteyn officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Anthonia’s life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Chatham Christian Schools and would be appreciated by the family.
