Obituary of Beverly Jeanne Howlett

Howlett, Beverly Jeanne, a resident of Chatham. Beverly J, Howlett was born in Merlin, Ontario on May 18, 1938 and went home to be with her Lord on February 17, 2011. Bev was the 2nd daughter of Mike & Nellie Mcleod. She was married twice, and is survived by her wonderful husand Stuart Howlett of 39 years. Bev is survived by 4 children, Grayling Church (Gertie), his children Ashley & Jason and baby Jaley; Tammy Snobelen, her children, Paul, Jordan & Shayla Snobelen; Dianne (Richard) LaBonte and Peter Howlett, his children Larissa & Pierce. Bev has extended family, Linda Bosse, her children Belinda (Korey, Kassandra), Dale, & Amy (infant daughter); James Howlett (Amanda), children, Amber, Brittany & Karissa; Donald Howlett (Kelsey & Kaleb). Bev is also survived by brother and sister-in-laws, Ernie & Agnes Howlett; Joye Howlett and Diane & Chuck Herniman. Bev leaves behind her loving sister Ilene Larkin & children Bryan (Debbie), Bonnie-Lee, Janie, Michael, Carolyn Phelps and Robyne Brown. Bev spent 33 years with a chronic illness, but on September 2002 received a gift of life, an organ transplant froma lady from Montreal. Bev had a special love for the Haitian people and made 2 missionary trips to Haiti several years ago. She loved teaching Bible Club to children in her earlier years. Bev loved to entertain her family and friends, was a past employee of Wolfe’s Stationery and the Red Cross and loved both her jobs, nature, the outdoors and pets (blue budgie Abba, & Winston the beautiful large brown Lab). Bev has some dear close friends, Dale & Joy Eagleson who have never left her side. Joy was always there for Bev whenever she needed help. Dale was Bev’s favourite gardener, he kept Bev & Stu’s flower garden looking lovely at the trailer. Bev also had several other close friends who were there at her side. She was fond of her nurses from Bayshore and her home support workers, they were all very, very good to Bev. She had a close relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and loved to speak about her Saviour. One of the versus that was close to Bev’s heart was Psalm 91 and Psalm 139. Bev referred to herself as the king’s daughter. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday February 23, 2011 at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham with Pastor Sharon Grainger officiating. Cremation has taken place. At Bev’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Outreach for Hunger or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
