Obituary of Angela Kerr

KERR: Angela Mary (nee Hoy). A resident of Chatham, Angela Kerr passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the age of 91 . Born in Fletcher, daughter of the late David and Gertrude (nee Gilhuly) Hoy. Loving wife of the late Wilson Harris Kerr (2009). Dear mother to Ronald Kerr of Wallaceburg, Shirley (Kerr) Carter of Waterloo, and Nancy (Kerr) Drew of London. Proud grandmother to Jeff Carter, Hannah Carter, Eric and Melyssa Kerr, Christine and Jason MacDonald, Ian Kerr, Erin Kerr, Rebekah Drew, Kyle Drew, Richard Drew, and great-grandmother to Owen Wesley MacDonald and Leah Grace MacDonald. Dear sister to John and Dorothy Hoy, Bernard and Joan Hoy, and Loretta Hoy. Sister-in-law to Yvonne Hoy. Predeceased by her sisters Marion (Finlin) Webel, Maureen Piette and her late husbands Mark and Albert, Lenore Drew and her husband Murray, Genevieve Drew and her husband Walter; brothers Jerome, Justin and Vincent Hoy, and sisters-in-law Yvonne Hoy and Clara Hoy. Angela will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. She was a former Ursuline Sister in Chatham. She had a Master’s degree in French Literature. She continued her commitment to education teaching in Chatham, Dresden, and Dublin, Ontario. A special thank-you is extended to the Doctors and Nurses at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus, on behalf of the entire family, for the tremendous care and compassion extended to Angela. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon St. Chatham on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Interment to take place at Riverview Cemetery in Wallaceburg.
