Obituary of Juliana Agnes Verstraete

A resident of R.R. # 2 Blenheim, Juliana Verstraete passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Blenheim Community Village on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the age of 85. Juliana will be remembered for many things, especially her devotion to her family, her commitment to her faith and her lifetime farming partnership with her husband, Camille. Beloved wife of 63 years to Camille Maurice Verstraete. Loving mother of Roy and Luella Verstraete of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, Margaret and Jerry Haskell of Blenheim, Anita Verstraete and husband Ken Wigle of Brampton, Diana and Hani Greiss of Mississauga and Anne Paling of Kitchener. Proud grandmother of Stephany Verstraete (husband David Lothian), Tyson Verstraete (Sofia), Aaron Verstraete, Tanya WahKan (Gerard), Juliana Foulis (Matthew), Melinda Beswetherick (Brett), Tara Haskell (fiancé Dan Laporte), Elizabeth Wigle, Katie Greiss, Amy Greiss, Eric Greiss, Kristen Paling (fiancé Cody Hammer), Erika Paling and Andrew Paling. Great-grandmother to Aidan and Nathan Lothian, Nicholas, Juliana and Olivia WahKan and Peyton Beswetherick. Survived by her sisters Irene Martin (predeceased by Romeo) of Chatham, Madeleine DeBruyn (Alfred) of Blenheim and Diana Vanopdenbosche (predeceased by Peter) of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. Predeceased by her sister Germaine Sinnaeve (late husband Oscar Minne) and her brother Charles Sinnaeve. Survived by her sisters-in-law Mary DeClerk of Chatham and Madeleine Verstraete-Konc of Dresden. Predeceased by her brothers and sister-in-law, Jack DeClerk, Irma Dernyck (Alphonse) and Henry Verstraete. Juliana was a member of the St. Mary’s Church C.W.L. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers to be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Blenheim on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Mariaraj Irudayam celebrant. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
